Washington State Assessment

Washington Comprehensive Assessment Program
The state test, previously know as the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL), has been replaced with the Measurements of Student Progress (MSP). The name of the MSP, given to students in grades 3-8, conveys the goal of the test: to measure student progress. The dates for testing in spring 2010 are May 12-28 for paper-and-pencil and May 3-June 4 for online testing in grades 6-8 in reading and math.

Beginning in spring 2010, the Measurements of Student Progress (MSP) will be available online in grades 6-8 in reading and math. The rest of the grades, including high school, will be phased in over the next few years.

College Place Public Schools has been selected to participate in the online testing this spring for grades 6-8 in reading and math. We are excited to be at the leading edge of online testing in Washington. If you would like more information about the online testing as well as the opportunity to do an online testing demo please visithttp://wa-online.caltesting.org/index.html. Students in grades 4 and 5 will continue to complete the entire test in the paper/pencil format. Also, 7th graders taking the writing assessment and 8th graders taking the science assessment will do so in the paper/pencil format.
