Sager Middle School in College Place will send six amazing students to Kansas City, Missouri, May 22-25 for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete in the Destination Imagination Global Competition. This team, made up of one seventh and five eighth grade students, with the team name “Thieves of Thebes,” won the regional competition and was placed in the state tournament on March 23rd in Kennewick, WA to qualify for this global competition.
Destination Imagination is a program that offers unique team challenges to participants, encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and working collaboratively to solve challenges from a variety of topics. Every year, students from our 7th/8th Grade Highly Capable Program led by Sager Teacher Mr. Ted Knauft, participate by selecting a challenge and finding solutions. A large number of Sager students participated and succeeded at the regional level recently with “Thieves of Thebes” the only global qualifier.
The cost of this trip is high, but so is our motivation! The District has contributed to pay for registration, airfare, and hotel and we need to raise the rest. Our goal is $10,000. You can help!
