It’s a census year— be sure that you and your family are counted! Every 10 years, the U.S. Constitution requires a count of everyone living in the country. The info gathered in the Census helps determine how much federal funding goes to our communities to support important services like roads, hospitals, and schools. It also determines the number of representatives Washington will have in Congress.

The 2020 Census is right around the corner. Starting in March, you’ll receive mail from the U.S. Census Bureau asking you to take the census online, by phone or by mail. phone. Important Dates: 

\r\n

March 12 - 20: Households will begin receiving official Census Bureau mail with detailed information on how to respond to the 2020 Census online, by phone, or by mail.  

\r\n

April 1: Census Day is observed nationwide. By this date, every home will receive an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census.

\r\n

May - July: Census takers will begin visiting homes that haven't responded to the 2020 Census to help make sure everyone is counted.

\r\n

December: The Census Bureau will deliver apportionment counts to the President and Congress as required by law.
