Hello CPPS Families!
\r\nWe are excited for the return of Fall sports seasons at CPHS and Sager, which are right around the corner!
\r\nRecently, the WIAA and the Washington State Department of Health released new guidelines and requirements that impact K-12 extracurricular programs and activities for this upcoming fall sports season and the school year. Below are some important highlights that directly impact CPHS and Sager extracurricular programs. You can also read the full guidance from the WA DOH by clicking here.
\r\nRegardless of student participant vaccination status, the following requirements apply:
\r\n-Weight training and weight room indoor activities require masks to be worn at all times.
\r\n-Outdoor sports in the fall like Football, Cross County, Girls Soccer and outdoor Cheer will not require masks to be worn by participants or spectators at this time.
\r\n-Indoor Fall sports like Volleyball will require participants to wear masks while not directly competing or actively participating in practices. Masks may be removed to actively compete or actively practice. All coaches, spectators and other team personnel will wear masks at all times indoors.
\r\n*Read more in the WA DOH Guidance linked above to learn about how vaccination status may or may not impact these guidelines for athletes and team personnel.
