BEGINNING DECEMBER 2 DURING THE MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS, STUDENTS WILL HEAR STORIES OF THE WRIGHT BROTHER'S FLIGHT, CHARLES LINDBERGH AND THE SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS, AMELIA EARHART AND DOUGLAS CORRIGAN. ON DECEMBER 8, THEY WILL LEARN ABOUT CHUCK YEAGER AND HOW HE BROKE THE SOUND BARRIER IN 1947 AND FINALLY THE 1966 ANONYMOUS MILITARY PILOT WHO RELEASED A PAPER AIRPLANE AT AN ALTITUDE OF 50,125 FEET - ALL IN PREPARATION TO BUILD AND FLY THEIR OWN PAPER AIRPLANE AT SAGER'S ANNUAL PAPER AIRPLANE COMPETITION. STUDENTS CAN PICK UP INFORMATION AND 'HOW-TO' SHEETS FROM MR. KNAUFT BEGINNING DECEMBER 2. ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8, THEY WILL HAVE PRACTICE FLIGHTS DURING LUNCH.
