The College Place Public Schools Board of Directors appointed community member Anne-Marie Bauman to its vacant Area #2 seat.  The seat was vacated when Melito Ramirez stepped down from the board to take a leadership position within the district.  The Board made its appointment at its regularly scheduled board meeting on Tuesday, August 24th.  Ms. Bauman will serve in the capacity until the November election determines the holder of the seat for the subsequent four years.

Anne-Marie has spent thirty years living in the school district and has seen each of her children go through the system with one still attending Sager Middle School.  Bauman spent the past twenty-one years serving as the treasurer for Trinity Baptist Church in Walla Walla after a time spent as a Test Engineer at Boeing.  Ms. Bauman spoke of her goals supporting student recovery from the impacts of the academic gap created by the pandemic and improving communication with parents.

“We are fortunate to have a person with longstanding roots in the College Place community who wants to serve.  Anne-Marie brings a wealth of education and experiences that will help support the growth and path forward in College Place Public Schools,” added Superintendent Jim Fry.
